Exploring Future Scenarios of Electronic Banking in Iran

Abstract:
In recent years the tremendous effect of information technology (IT) in financial industry has transformed the industry into a new digital world. Specially, the banking industry, with diverse actors and a complex ecosystem is a subject of substantial changes resulting from new information technology trends. In this order, achieving more effective decisions confronting ambitious trends are critical to all whom tries to compete in or manage this ecosystem. So exploring the uncertainties and scenarios in electronic banking is one the most important challenges for researchers and practitioners in order to make more effective decisions in strategic planning, policy making, entrepreneurship works  and related subjects. This study tries to explore uncertainties, subsequent scenarios and related policies of electronic banking in Iran. 17 open interviews with the industry and academic experts were conducted and 9 uncertainties were identified of which 3 were selected. In the next step Through Global Business Network (GBN) method 6 scenarios were described and related policies presented.
