The footmarks of Arvand River plume in the north of the Persian Gulf during the spring
Arvand River is the result of the combination of three rivers: Karun (from Iran), Tigris and Euphrates (from Iraq). In this research, the location of the plume of Arvand River has been identified by using temperature, salinity and density data of the ROPME (Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment) expedition during March, 1992, in the north of Persian Gulf region with Python programing along the vertical line. ETOPO2 was used in the Python environment to create topography of the region. Results clearly illustrate that the plume of Arand River in terms of temperature is near the coast of Saudi Arabia (150 km on bottom and 212 km on the surface), and, in terms of its salinity characteristic, the effects of Arand River are sharply limited to the coast of Kuwait (37 km), which is related to the more rapid mixing of temperatures compared with salinity.
