Comparing the effectiveness of positive-psychological intervention and emotional regulation training on Nar- Anon group 's Character-Strength.
The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of positive-psychological intervention and emotional regulation training on Nar- Anon group 's Character-Strength. The research was a Semi-experimental study with a pretest-post-test-follow-up with control group. The statistical population of this study was the addicted family in the meetings of the families of the anonymous addicts' families (Nar- Anon) in Omidieh city in 1397 whom 60 of them were randomly selected and randomly assigned to two groups of experimental and control group. The first group received positive-psychological intervention and the second group received emotional training, the third group did not receive training. The test instrument was a questionnaire of Character-Strength, which showed that Cronbach's alpha of 0.78 indicates the reliability of this. Data were analyzed using covariance analysis. The results showed that the difference between the two trained groups in the two post-test and follow-up groups was significant (P <0.01). There was also a significant difference between the groups of positive-psychological intervention and emotional regulation training (P <0.01); The intervention based on positive psychology has had a more effective effect. Considering the effectiveness of these interventions, they can be used to upgrade the ability of addicts and their families.
