The Relationship between Social Skills and Agricultural Students' Attitude towards Entrepreneurship at University of Tehran
The aim of this research was to investigate the relationship between social skills and agricultural students' attitude towards entrepreneurship at University of Tehran. The statistical population of the study contained of all M.Sc. students in agriculture faculty of Tehran University (N=450), from which 138 students were selected by using SPSS Sample Power software. Simple random sampling was employed in selection of the respondents. A questionnaire was developed to gather data. Validity and reliability of the research instrument were confirmed based on the evaluation of a panel of experts and ordinal alpha coefficient (0.79 & 0.89), respectively. The results indicated that the social skill of the majority of students was either low or intermediate and their attitude towards entrepreneurship was either intermediate or high. The finding of correlation analysis revealed that there was a positive significant (at 1% significance level) relationship between conversational skill, collaborative skill, conflict resolution skill, persuasion and total social skill and students' attitude towards entrepreneurship. The results also showed that there was a positive significant (at 5% significance level) relationship between solidarity and empathic skill and self-promotion and students' attitude towards entrepreneurship. Therefore, it can be concluded that if students' social skills improve through education, their attitude toward entrepreneurship will also be improved.
