The Internet is a strong and multimedia technology that meets the most basic needs of human beings; however, this new technology can have great negative effects on people's lives. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of Internet addiction on the quality of life of nursing students in Islamic Azad University of Ghaenat.
This study was a descriptive-correlational study. The statistical population consisted of all undergraduate students at the Islamic Azad University of Ghaenat Branch in the academic year of 2018. In order to select the sample group, available sampling method was used and the Yang Internet addiction inventory questionnaire was used for data analysis. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis with spss-18 software.
The results showed a significant negative correlation between internet addiction (p value < 0.05) and quality of life of students, as well as positive correlation between quality of life (p value < 0.05).
The Internet can relieve a person from everyday life and endangers many of life's homework. Therefore, it is recommended that educational programs be designed to push students towards the proper use of the Internet and scientific sites. The results can be solved by counselors, Psychologists and relevant authorities.
