The present study aimed at examining the pathology (weaknesses and threats) in Education. The study, which was conducted through semi-structured interviews and examination of documents, is developmental in objective and qualitative one in data gathering. Content analysis through categorization was employed for analyzing the data. Afterwards, a total number of 124 research institutes were selected through convenient sampling; in addition, eleven faculty members of Education, the deans and employers of the education graduates were purposively selected and interviewed. Results showed that there existed 37 sets of weaknesses in Education, which could be divided into educational, research, economic, administrative-structural and sociocultural factors. From applicants’ points of view, Education has undergone weaknesses and challenges in all five aspects. In educational aspect, inappropriateness of syllabuses with social needs, and lack of resources for conducting research were reported. In addition, the program was proved to face economic-based problems, the most important of which could be mentioned as inappropriate relationship between the field and the job students selected. There were, also, some problems in the administrative-structural aspects such as strict rules and complicated process of decision-making in the course. Furthermore, the conflicts between professors and students were reported as the main challenges in the area of sociocultural aspects.
