Investigating the acceptance and use status of Iranian databases from the users' point of views: a case study of Iranian Research Institute of Information Science and Technology (IRANDOC)

determining the positions of Main variables of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, intention behavior, and use) among users of IRANDOC databases.

this study is survey and conducted at the analytical and field level. The sample research is the all potential users of IRANDOC databases, which 325 people have been chosen through simple random sampling. The research instrument is the questionnaire provided by Venkatesh et al. that has been tested regarding its reliability and validity.

The results show that among main variables of UTAUT model, according of users’ opinion, effort expectancy is the most effect on the acceptance and use of IRANDOC databeses. Furthermore, comparing the status of UTAUT Model variables with average level, all the variables except use are above of the average level.

it seems that IRANDOC databases regarding the predicted variable of UTAUT Model ate at high or above arrange level. However, the need for more attempt to do continual improvement is necessary to increase the level of acceptance and use of technology.
