Cultural security in Islam and the leadership’s points of view

Many scholars place “security” at the top of the pyramid of human needs and consider it as the most basic and most necessary criterion for satisfying other human material and spiritual needs. Security, although a subjective, psychological, and quite complex subject, is intrinsically comprehensible, and we can not achieve a common perception regarding the term; But the categories of culture and national culture, which are the subject of divergent views, also extend their complexities to the issue of security. As a result, cultural security has become one of the most controversial issues, so that it is difficult to get to a comprehensive ground and a general theory in this area. Culture and security are two normative and valuable words that have been with human beings and evolved with human life.Given the recent global events in various fields, the need to pay attention to the issue of national security and the preparation of cultural infrastructure measures is of great importance. Cultural security is achieved through protecting a culture and the promotion of the conditions necessary for it, to grow and develop its adaptations. Therefore, Islamic culture and values ​​are liberating and they can bring security for both the citizens as well as the Islamic community. This study using descriptive-analytical approach, attempts to describe the views of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution, and Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei on the issues of culture and security.
