The Correlation between the Triple Management Skills of the Managers of the Departments of Physical Education in Markazi Province and Their Demographic Characteristics

The present paper aims to determine the correlation between the triple management skills of the managers of the departments of physical education in Markazi province and their demographic characteristics. The methodology used was descriptive field research. The statistical population included all the managers and deputies of the physical education departments in Markazi province as well as the presidents and vice presidents of the sports staff (N=121). The sample was selected using census sampling method. The applied data-gathering instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire consisting of two parts, namely questions on demographic characteristics and questions relating to the three subcategories of human, conceptual, and technical skills. The validity of the questionnaire was tested through construct validity (KMO= 0.74) and its reliability was tested through Cronbach’s alpha (α= 0.90). The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Friedman test, and Spearman correlation coefficient were used to examine the research hypothesis. The results showed that there was a significant difference betweenthe triple (conceptual, human, and technical) management skills of the managers of the departments of physical education in Markazi province (P=0.05). There was no significant relationship between the triple skills andtheir demographic characteristics (P>0.05). Since there was a significant relationship between the triple management skills, and considering the role of each in the managers’ success and efficiency, it is recommended that special attention be paid to these skills in educating managers.
