Abstract:

Kulayni in the part of “With faith, sin does not harm human felicity”, of the section of Faith and Disbelief in the book al-Kafi has brought two narrations which mean apparently: sin doesn’t harm felicity of a person when he/she is a believer. At first glance, this doctrine is in conflict with the concept of the Quranic verses and narrations that consider having faith and doing righteous deeds join together. The main problem is that, since the Quran and narrations come from same source, the existence of conflict between them is not acceptable, therefore, a solution must be found to resolve the issue. Another issue is the cultural dimension and probable behavioral and practical misconceptions of these types of narrations. In this article via the analytical-critical method the narrations of the book al-Kafi have been examined in terms of document and text and as a result the initial conflict is finally resolved. The final result is that the title chosen by al-Kulayni for the part “With faith, sin does not harm human felicity” cause some people misunderstand these narrations. Overview to the Shia narrations in this regard shows that in fact there is no conflict between two mentioned parts of the book al-Kafi.
