A Review for Application of machine vision in Apparel industry

In recent years, by developing science and technology and creating competitive markets in the apparel industry, the necessity of quality control, the quantitative and qualitative parameters measurement and the prediction of the final product properties have been found to be of great importance. Today, factories are looking for machine vision and image processing algorithms, because in these methods not only there is no need to expensive and complex apparatuses, but also using a computer and a camera lead to highly accurate results and minimum possible errors in the shortest possible time. In this study, the machine vision based researches in the apparel industry were reviewed such as measuring the human body and preparing proper body size, converting the paper pattern into a correctable and sizable digital pattern, designing and classifying the fashion and apparel, the virtual peru clothing, determining the clothing defects automatically, using thermal camera in the comfort clothing.
