The Effectiveness of Compassion-Focused Therapy on Elderly Life expectancy
The inevitable process of aging begins without a doubt. In the biological process, humans face a level called aging. On the one hand, declining population growth rates and, on the other hand, improving medical care have led to a longer life expectancy in most countries around the world. A number of psychosocial risk factors such as lack of social roles, loss of independence, death of friends and relatives, increased isolation, financial constraints, and reduced physical and mental health adversely affect elderly health. Assessment, diagnosis and identification of these problems and their prevention play an important role in increasing the life expectancy of the elderly. Life expectancy at birth represents the average number of years a newborn baby will live, provided that he or she is likely to die for future years of life like human beings of today. Third-wave treatments that focus more on performance than on content of incremental growth conditions And emphasize concepts like mindfulness, contextualism, compassion for others, and self-reliance. Such as these treatments is compassion-focused therapy that has attracted the attention of modern therapists even for specific diseases. Therefore, due to the importance of elderly issues in Iran and lack of research based on the effectiveness of compassionate treatment in the elderly population, the present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of compassionate treatment on elderly life expectancy.
