Modern Populism in Theoretical Perspective
Populism is essential for political science in the age of globalization. Globalization and the media have transformed all aspects of human life, including politics. This transformation has shaped both the nature and meaning of politics, the functions and institutions. As in the new lifestyle, new politics and democracies emerged. The main components of modern politics are populism. New populism has changed the elements of democracy such as civil society, party, elections and people's participation. Modern politics is characterized by daily components such as the magnification of corruption and economic accusation, the inefficiency of the cultural middle class, and the avoidance of truth-telling, the direct relationship between managers and society, and the central role of social media in elections.
