Prioritizing and Comparing the Factors Affecting the Maturity of Faculty Members (Case Study: Payame Noor University and Islamic Azad University of Sari)
The present study aimed at prioritizing and comparing the factors affecting the maturity of faculty members at Payame Noor University and Islamic Azad University of Sari. The research method was causal-comparative. The statistical population included 175 faculty members of Islamic Azad University and 38 faculty members of Payame Noor University in 2017. A number of 120 faculty members of Islamic Azad University were selected by stratified random sampling and 38 faculty members of Payame Noor University were selected by complete enumeration. A researcher-made questionnaire was used for data collection. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed through face validity and experts' opinions and the reliability of the questionnaire was calculated as 0.94 using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Data analysis was conducted using U-Mann-Whitney and Friedman tests. The findings indicated no significant difference between the faculty members of Payame Noor University and Islamic Azad University in terms of career maturity. In addition, there were no difference in terms of individual factors and educational factors of maturity while a significant difference was found between the maturity of faculty members of Payame Noor University and Islamic Azad University in terms of organizational and environmental factors. Meanwhile, the results indicated that organizational factors at Islamic Azad University and environmental factors at Payame Noor University have the most important role in the maturity of faculty members.
