An Exploratory Model for the Propensity on the Part of Iranian Students to Study and Work Abroad
The present research endeavors to present an exploratory model for the tendency of young researchers to study and work abroad applying a grounded method and qualitative approach. The required data were collected through in-depth interviews and then analyzed using Glaser method. The 16 participants selected for the interviews were chosen using purposeful sampling. The results of the research identified 67 indicators, 12 concepts, and 6 categories from the interviews which were fit into paradigm model including economic conditions as the central phenomenon, domestic problems and destination country attractions as the causal conditions, problems in the destination country as the intervening conditions, the immigration process occurrences as the strategies, and personal benefit and social forfeitures as the consequences, making up the basic tenets of this model.
