The social factors affecting the youth crime among slum dwellers in Kerman City

The aim of the study is to investigate the involvement of youth in crime acts under slum dwellers to Kerman city (Iran) in 2015. Slum is not just a problem for Meterpols in Latin America and Africa, but it is a challenge for all countries in Asia. Iran is one of them.The data were collected from 242 adolescents who are sedentary in the juvenile detention camps at this time. The research method is survey and the data were collected by standardized questionnaires. The sample was selected using randomized and snow-ball method. For the analysis of the data, we use the analysis of variance test, regression analysis, path analysis with two correlation coefficients (Pearson r). The results of the study show that: there is a meaningful relationship between the educational level of the responders, city, county friend, religious tendency and family role and participation in acts of crime. We concluded that slum`s life of young people is one of the hard problems that confronted the country in relation to young people in coming years.
