Investigating the Political Position of Sheikh Mohammad Baqer Ayati Birjandi in Qaenat

Due to the importance of the relation between religion and politics in the history of Iran and the effective role of scholars in political issues especially social and political movements, in this study we try to analyze Sheikh Mohammad Baqer Ayati’s political role in Qaenat region. We have implemented the descriptive-analytical method based on the available documents. The results show that Sheikh Mohammad Baqer had a major role in different political issues. He would disagree with other dissident scholars on the Constitutional Revolution of Iran and this view led to a conflict between him and his contemporary religious scholars. He had expressed his views on some issues such as Mohammad Esmail Shokat al-Molk’s endowment agreement that brought about security in the area and decreased competitions in Alam dynasty in the region.
