The goal of this research is study of effectiveness of positive thinking skills training on female high school students happiness and social adaptation in Mehrban city.The method of present study is a quasi-experimental by using a pre-test post-test design with a control group. The population of this study incloud the female high school students of Mehrban city. The sample included 60 students who gained low scores in both Questionnaires.Then, subjects were divided randomly into two groups of control (30 students) and experimental(30 students). For gathering data, Oxford Happiness(Argyl and Lu, 1989) and Bell Adaptation(Bell,1961) Questionnaires were used in this study. When training sessions of the experimental group were finished, a post-test was taken of the subjects of both groups again.Data were analyzed by using ANCOVA. The results of the analysis showed that after controlling the effect of covariate (Pre-test) the means of happiness and social adaptation post-test between two groups has a significant difference(p<0.001). So, it can be concluded that positive thinking skills training increased the happiness and social adaptation of the students. Also, the results showed that after three month period the effectiveness of positive thinking skills training on social adaptation has been existed but, its effectiveness on happiness was not stabled.
