The moderating role of gender in the relationship between on Islamic lifestyle with positive mood and mental health in students
The aim of this study was examine the moderating effect of gender in the relationship between Islamic lifestyle with Positive mood and mental health. The methodology of research was descriptive-correlation study. The study population consisted of between 5000 male and female students of Islamic Azad University in Saveh branch 2014-2015 in school year. Finally, about 350 of them were selected through Stratified random Method as a statistical sample. The research instruments included Islamic lifestyle questionnaire, and Oxford Questionnaire of Happiness (Argyle and Loo,1990) were used. For data analysis, Pearson’s correlation test and multiple hierarchical regressions were performed, using SPSS-20. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between an Islamic lifestyle with Positive mood and mental health. Gender as a moderating variable hadn’t effect in the relationship between an Islamic lifestyle with positive mood and mental health. According to the results, one can say When Students behave according to an Islamic lifestyle, then the positive mood and mental health will be increased. Therefore because of importance of Islamic life style in whole of human life in providing mental health and positive moods, suggested that concern in planning for individual and social program.
