Breastfeeding in the Quran and Narrations

Numerous verses and saying narrated in the mother's milk, as well as the importance of breastfeeding to the extent that the World Health Organization first seven days of August "week of breastfeeding" is named. In this study, we tried the tremendous importance of breast-feeding to consider from the perspective of revelation and tradition.

This is a review study. Articles indexed in some databases such as Google Scholar, Sid, Magiran during 2006 and 2016 as well as Quran verses and sayings related to the subject matter were reviewed.

There are some verses of Qur'an about the importance of breastfeeding that the most important and most famous of them are: verse 233 of Baqarah, verse 15 of Al-Ahqaf, verse 14 of Luqman, verse 23 of Nesa, verse 6 of Talaq, verse 2 of Haj, verse 7 & 12 of Qasas. Also there are important Narrations of the Prophet Mohammad and Emams. These verses and Narrations explained in the fulltext.

Citing religious and Quran teaching on the importance of breastfeeding is abundant and considering the unique and without replacing it, it can be concluded that breastfeeding and breastfeeding exclusive is very important.
