Rabies in Military

The Rabies is one of the most common fatal infectious diseases between humans and warm-blooded animals. Today, rabies and animal bites are one of the basic problems of health in all military forces around the world .Since the prevention of infectious diseases, particularly rabies is an important component in the preparation of military force and according to a few studies that have been done in this area. Our study aimed to identify ways to prevent this disease which can have a role in the prevention of rabies in military personnel.

Rabies is a viral infection of the central nervous system and can be transmitted between animals and humans usually through the bite of a rabid animal and is transmitted to humans and its fatality rate is hundred percent. Dogs plays a major role in the transmission of the disease. Symptoms in humans and animal are different and includes the steps of: latency, initial signs and symptoms that ultimately caused the death of a living being is enhanced. Vaccination for the prevention of rabies in Iran for pre-exposure and post-exposure is performed.

According to one hundred percent lethal rabies symptoms and conditions for employment of military forces, diagnosis and treatment of disease among them is important and prevention through education and vaccination should be priorities.
