this study aimed to investigate the relationship between performance of the general supervision office and attracting social capital of citizens in the city of Kermanshah implemented in 2014. The study employs a descriptive method, and the population of the study consisted of 1805 residents who contacted or referred to general supervision office in first six month of 2014 in Kermanshah province. A sample of 317 people (according to Colman table) was selected. The results showed a significant relation between the performance of general supervision offices with attracting citizens’ trust, social participation, improving social relations of people and the police, and finally attract social capital of citizens. The results indicated that the general supervision office (197) is not only a supervision unit with a supervisory, evaluative, controlling and inspective structure, but also it is committed to assessing public demands and monitoring public trust regarding this office by creating and strengthening the link between the people and the police while respecting the public demands and identifying Citizens’ needs, and investigating criticisms and complaints. The general supervision office is an organization that can reduce tensions between people and the police, logically and systematically fulfill the citizens’ expectations, and maintain community-oriented policing approach.
