face image retrieval using LBP based on GPU to accelerate face detection

Given the growing popularity and use of digital devices in human daily life; an increase in image sharing on social networks such as Facebook , Flicker, Instagram as well as loading various clips on such networks , the utilization of digital images has sharply increased, particularly in the last decade, among them, a high percentage belongs to human face images(approximately above 60%) what matters here is face image retrieval using high accuracy feature extraction methods. The more precise method, the more time it requires to be processed. in this paper we plan to execute numerous high accuracy feature extraction methods in face image retrieval like LBP and its variants, HOG, SIFT, SURF and in some case the combination of above mentioned methods by suitable coding on GPU in order to examine the impact of processing speed and its accuracy compared to the CPU and propose the best method for it
