This study to aim was conducted the effectiveness of premarital education based on relationship education program on reducing the dysfunctional relationship beliefs among Ahwaz city universities single students. The design of research was an extended quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest and follow up with the control group. The population of this study was single students of Ahvaz universities. 38 students were selected base on a standard score of higher than the mean in the relationship beliefs inventory and were assigned randomly to an experiment and control groups. The participants completed the Relationship Beliefs Inventory in three stages re-test, post-test, and follow-up. The experimental group participanted in a relationship education program 9 sessions for 90 minutes twice a week. The results of repeated analysis of variance showed that the relationship based education program has been led to the reduction of the components of dysfunctional relationship beliefs in the experimental group than the control group at posttest and follow-up stages. Based on the findings, we can conclude that relationship education program is a suitable method for reducing the dysfunctional relationship beliefs among the singles students before marriage.
