CRITICISM OF CLAIMS OF DISTORTION OF THE QUR'AN IN ORIENTALISTS WORKS, RELYING ON AYATOLLAH FAZEL LANKRANI'S OPINIONS

One of the doubts raised about the Qur'an is the distortion of this divine scripture. This issue has generally been raised by some Muslim scholars since the eleventh century and has been fueled by Eastern scholars. It seems that the origin of this suspicion is the weak traditions found in some Shiite and Sunni hadith books.
This article, which is the most recent research in this field, has used the analytical-descriptive and critical approach of Orientalists to explain and review the claims of Qur'an distortions, relying on Ayatollah Fazel Lankrani's point of views. A review of the historical data sets and the existing knowledge shows that a group of orientalists such as Noldke, Goldsiehr and Bull have accused the Shiites of distorting the Quran. But it is clear that these traditions cannot be a documented reason for theory of distorting the Quran, while the vast majority of them were fabricated. Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani believes that the verses of the Qur'an have maintained their alignment with the existing scripture, so there is no obstacle to relying on divine revelations.
