The Effectiveness of Eclective Method of Kindness and Positive Self-talk on Resiliency, Hostility and Positive Feeling towards Spouse in Betrayed Women

The purpose of this study to determine the effect of mixed training of kindness and positive self-talk on resiliency, hostility, and positive feelings towards spouse in women who have experienced betrayal in Isfahan city. A semi-experimental method consisting of pre-test, post- test, and one month follow up with a control group was used. The research population included all betrayed women in Isfahan city in 2017. By purposive sampling 30 women were selected and randomly assigned to  the experimental and control groups. Williams'sHostility Questionnaire, Connor and Davidson ‘s Resilience Questionnaire and Daniel Oleary, Fincham & Turkewitz's Questionnaire for Positive Feeling towards Spouse were used as data collection tools. The experimental group received kindness focused therapy and positive self-talk training in 11 sessions that each lasted 100 minutes. Data analysis was conducted by applying repeated measures covariance. A significant difference was indicated between control and experimental groups in pre- and post-test and follow-up. Thus, mixed training of kindness and positive self-talk by enhancing resiliency can reduce hostility and by activating affection between spouses would create positive feelings.
