Study of Factors Affecting Demand for Domestic Tourism in Golestan Province

The purpose of this paper is to determine the factors affecting the demand for domestic tourism in Golestan province. The information used in this article is of a cross-sectional type that includes 384 families of domestic tourists who have resided in Golestan province for at least one night in April of 1398. The sample was selected in this paper by stratified random sampling and the required information was collected through oral interview with the head of household tourists and completed the questionnaire. To estimate the demand function of the tourist, the model of the almost ideal model of the demand-side system (AIDS) model, which is in the form of a regression model, was used and separate regressions were calculated to estimate the demand for five food commodities, housing, hospitality, tickets, and souvenir visits. The results show that various factors such as the characteristics of the tourist's type, the type of accommodation in the trip, the type of accommodation, the type of housing in the city of residence and the distance of the town of the tourist settlement with Golestan province is influential on the demand for tourism products in Golestan province.
