The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on quality of life and perceived stress in cancer patients.
The current research was a quasi-experimental of pretest-posttest and control group design The statistical population included all cancer patients referring to the pathology department of Shiraz hospitals in 2017. Selected through purposefully sampling method from Namazi Hospital and inclusion criteria were 30 patients assigned randomly in experimental (n=15) and control (n=15) groups. The experimental group received an interventional program(Acceptance and Commitment-based therapy) of eight 90-minute sessions. The control group did not receive any intervention. Data were collected using, the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire and Perceived Stress Questionnaire. The data were analyzed andrepresented as mean, standard deviation, and Univariate covariance analyze.
The results showed that acceptance and commitment therapy has a significant effect on improving the quality of life and reducing perceived stress in patients with cancer.
According to the findings of this study, it can be mentioned that Acceptance and Commitment-based therapy increase Quality of Life and reducing Perceived Stress in cancer patients and it can be used as an efficient method. and it can be used as an efficient method.
