A study of structural and technological barriers to implementing knowledge management in Khuzestan Public Library
The aim of this study was to identify structural and technological barriers to implementing knowledge management in public libraries in Khuzestan province.
In the present study, a descriptive survey method was used. The population consisted of 230 public library authorities, heads of cities and experts working in public libraries in Khuzestan province. The statistical sample of 140 people was calculated based on Morgan table. A simple random sampling method was used to distribute the questionnaire. The data collection tool was a questionnaire examining the technological and structural barriers in knowledge management. Exploratory factor analysis, single-sample ttest and Friedman have been used for data analysis.
Based on the results of exploratory factor analysis, 5 factors of technological, organizational structure, resource allocation, evaluation and sharing of knowledge were identified as the most important technological and institutional barriers to implementing knowledge management in public libraries in Khuzestan province. The situation of these agents in the Khuzestan Public Libraries is in poor condition. The results of the Friedman test showed that technological barriers are the most important obstacles to implementing knowledge management in public libraries in Khuzestan province.
The results show that all indices studied in this research have an impact on the failure of knowledge management in the public libraries of the province. To successfully deploy knowledge management, the organization's managers must take actions to address these barriers.
