The rapid development of technology and health informatics has encouraged hospitals to build the infrastructure and improve skills to provide better and high quality services. Developing countries face many problems in providing medical and health care services, including lack of financial resources, specialist personnel, roads and transportation facilities, and so on. For such countries, telemedicine can be a good solution to overcome the problems. The aim of this study is to investigate the barriers of remote medical deployment in developing countries.

Material and Methods

The present study was a systematic overview with a comprehensive search of web sites, validated journals, Scopus, SIDs, Science Direct, ISC and Google Scholar search engine, as well as related books in this area.

Results

some studies showed that most of the hospitals had access to the Internet, and all hospital computers were able to connect to management systems such as HIS and DIS. And in most of these hospitals, video conferencing equipment is available for online meetings. However, none of these hospitals had the necessary technical infrastructure, such as hardware and hardware, physical space, as well as communication and network infrastructure, for the implementation of advanced medical devices from a distance such as remote surgery. In the field of barriers to the establishment of telemedicine, research showed that in developing countries the most important barriers to the establishment of a remote medical system were, lack of technical and medical staff, inadequate bandwidth, initial costs and insurance problems and reimbursement. Also, in various studies, barriers such as licensing, confidentiality, and poor service quality were among the things that were less important for remote medical deployment.

Discussion and Conclusion:

Considering the advantage and disadvantage of telemedicine, hospitals need to plan appropriately in order to meet the necessary standards and strengthen available facilities so that they can run the medical system remotely. Also, some studies confirm the importance of the present study on the knowledge and ability of human resources, the conditions of hospitals in terms of the processes and applications and the communication equipment needed for the establishment of telemedicine, and emphasized the importance of implementation and provision of infrastructure Need for distance medicine
