A Review of New Definitions in Nursing Diagnosis in Clinical Nurses
Nursing diagnosis is defined as part of the nursing process and clinical judgment of the individual or community or the response to the health problems. Nanda’s classification is a nursing language used for diagnostic process for nurses. This study is a simple overview of the definition of nursing diagnosis and its application in clinical practice.
This is a review study. The required information is gathered according to the purpose of the study from the Google databases and Science Direct, CINAHL, PubMed and library resources by keywords, Nursing Diagnosis, and Evolution. Based on these keywords, about 53 papers were obtained between 1998 and 2018, after which a preliminary study; about 14 papers were considered to cover the objectives of this study.
Nursing diagnosis is the critical step in a nursing quality care. In explaining the diagnosis, the nurse has a duty to plan an interview with the objective observation of the questionnaire and review the patient’s case for therapeutic purposes in the field of nursing duties.
Nursing diagnosis and patient problems are considered as a necessity for nursing information system and accurate diagnosis; however, in using nursing diagnostic classification systems, the needs of nursing groups and their compatibility with patients and medical problems noticed.
