Study of the role of cultural capital on extent of use of communicationsand technology information (Case Study: Residents of Rasht)

This research work is aimed at investigating the role of social capital or asset on communications and information technologies and assessment of the extent of the social capital and use of communications and information technologies on citizens. The method of the investigation is survey and the tool for data collections is questionnaires. Residents of the city of Rasht are the statistical population of this study that were selected by using the Cochran 400 Formula and based of Cluster Sampling Method. For testing the validity of assumptions of the study, T testing, Pearson Correlation, regression analysis and route analysis were employed. Results of the study showed that the cultural capital has positive and direct relation with the extent of the use of communications and information technologies. In other words, by increasing of one of them the other will also increase. In addition, regression analysis of the impact of cultural capital variable on communications and information technologies is meaningful, which means that communications and information technologies could be predicted by the volume of cultural capital and other results from the size of variables shows considerable impact of cultural capital on citizens’ communications and information technologies.
