Traffic Safety Evaluation by Two Dimensional Modeling of Vehicle

The development of cities caused increasing of vehicles and accidents. According to different problems of traditional traffic safety evaluation, the using of necessary methods is needed. In recent years, using of traffic interference indexes has increased. For using of these indexes the users’ speed, moving direction is needed. In this article data collection by using automated video analyzing and calibration is presented. For high attention in safety evaluations and considering the type of the vehicle, two dimensional modeling of vehicle is presented. As a case study the intersection of Vesal Shirazi to Bozorgmehr without traffic light in Tehran were selected. By video analyzing, data for 15 minute was recorded. By using accident time index, the crises accident interference for different moving was gathered. The results of the study showed the high risk of left turning to this route. The efficiency of this method is in safety evaluation.
