Determining Comfort Climate of Garmsar City for Development of Sport Tourism Using Olgyay's Method and Discomfort Index
The purpose of this study was to determine and evaluate the thermal comfort in Garmsar city in order to identify suitable times for tourism activities in this city based on climatic conditions. To determine tourism climate, two quantitative indices Olgyay (DI) and dissatisfaction (DI) were used and to determine the suitability of tourism type with climate, Bahmanpour et al. (2012) model was used. For this purpose, statistical data on temperature and relative humidity of the study area over the last 25 years were evaluated and evaluated. The results indicate that according to Olgyay index, April, May and October are in the thermal comfort zone and are the best times for sport tourism in the study area. On the other hand, July and August due to the high heat and December, January, February and March due to high cold are not suitable times for outdoor sports tourism. On the other hand, according to the Comfort Index, June and August, September, December, January, February and March are not good times for tourism. The minimum relative humidity average of 18% was set which is outside the standard range of the Olgyay index. This indicates the need for serious consideration of climatic parameters and parameters in determining thermal comfort and timing appropriate for sport tourism activities.
