Conceptual Explanation of Power in Imam Khomeini's Political Thought

Since concepts have an essential role in the production of theory, this study seeks to clarify the concept of power in Imam Khomeini's political thought by using a deductive method within the conceptual framework of primary and secondary concepts. Imam Khomeini offers a definition of the concept of power in the context of transcendent philosophy; a definition which is distinct from to the famous explanation of power, whose key element is imposition and domination. Accordingly, there are two patterns of power; Khomeini's model which is referred to as transcendent power and the other model which is referred to as lower power. A thorough understanding the meaning of power from Imam Khomeini's perspective helps us know what the founder and leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran thinks of power and what kind of power he advocates and urges others to hold, maintain and develop.
