Music holds an important place in the cultures of various Iranian ethnic groups. Therefore, studies in the field of folk culture and anthropology pay particular attention to music. The folk music of Zagros people originates in the ancient culture of this region and, especially, in the culture of Lur people, namely, Bakhtiari people. Bakhtiari and Lur singers and musicians have kept their own cultural heritage alive until today with the help of their dohols, other musical instruments, and nature in a vast area of Middle Zagros. Their folk literature is rooted in their lifestyle, migrations, jobs, and climate and is continually transferred from one generation to the other by art-loving people. Bakhtiari singers transfer their local maqams )melodies( and couplets by the word of tongue relying on their memory and oral knowledge. The required data for this study were collected, classified, and analyzed using the library and field methods of research in relation to musical instruments, literature and poems, singers, different types of celebration and mourning songs, epic poems, and ghazal.
