The earthquake is one of the natural disasters that most countries including Iran face with its threats. Iran with its Geological and being on the earthquake belt is one of the countries which the earthquake occurs more. Every year earthquakes impose great damage. Azarshahr as a one of the east Azerbaijan cities can’t be excluded. The aim of this research is to evaluate Physical Vulnerability of Azarshahr. The type of the research is practical and its method is descriptive-analytical. Data collection is conducted by texts, resources, books and articles’ surveys and also, survey of maps and by interviews and questionnaires. Data analysis is conducted by Analytical Hierarchy process of AHP and pairwise comparison and GIS software in the related phases such as entrance, save, management, process and analysis of data regarding to criteria like distance from fault, degree of batter, type of soil, population density, quality of buildings, kind of structure, age of building, the number of floors, the access to free spaces, distance from hospital and distance from fire station. Exploring of obtained results show that different factors can have various effective on the damage which caused by earthquake. Azarshahr having 9km from the fault area is located on the center of earthquake. Regarding to mention criteria and analyzing of them, the degree of Physical Vulnerability in Azarshahr is medium upward and regarding to high level of buildings and population density, low quality of structures, organic civil network of the city center, and also, the old part of the city, degree of Physical Vulnerability is high.
