Analyze Of Signalized intersections with HCM 2000 Method, case study: Hamidian intersection in Rasht

Traffic controlsystems and equipment are so effective on traffic flow and could change the favorable conditionsinto inappropriate term and reverse. In this regard, one of the most important equipment is traffic lights those nowadays are extremely being used all around the world. Also the efficiency of these traffic lights is very important and should be customized with the local conditions where the lights have been set.In this article, some parts of a major project is quoted, which the final aim was estimating the capacity, analyzing and founding level of service (L.O.S) in some signalized intersections. For this purpose volume, type of vehicles, row length and delay time gathered with counting in intersections. Then according to HCM2000 standard and its related software, gathered data were analyzed. In this article on of the signalized intersections in Rasht which named “Hamidian” is studied and the advantages indicates that the intersection is on the worst level of service and is not efficient, that the traffic lamp with unadjusted timing is one of the main reasons of that.
