In recent decades, human life has been heavily influenced by new communication, while virtual social networks as a part of these new media and communications have provided users with the benefits of خn the one hand, they share their interests, thoughts and activities without time and space; on the other hand, these networks can be effective in all fields. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using virtual social networks with the role of mediating quality of life on general health of veterans and disabled athletes in Iran.
In this research, descriptive and correlational method was applied field-based and using a questionnaire. The statistical population of this study, all veterans and disabled athletes in Iran, according to the latest statistics received from the head of the provincial affairs office of the Federation of Veterans and Disabled Sports in 1396, numbered 18,229 athletes, 13653 men and 4576 women. The method of sampling in this research was multi-stage cluster random sampling. And the sample size according to the Morgan table, 384 veterans and disabled athletes, and a total of 480 distributed questionnaires in eight provinces (Tehran-Mazandaran-South Khorasan-Khuzestan-Kermanshah-Central-Hormozgan-West Azarbaijan), each of which 60 questionnaires, 40 There were 390 questionnaires, geographic area and the most number of athletes. Descriptive statistics, frequency distribution tables, frequency, percentage and standard deviation were used to organize, summarize, categorize raw scores and describe the data. To analyze the data (comparing the meanings), one-sample t-test was used to prioritize the variables by Friedman test, and for statistical relationships, Pearson correlation coefficient and for predicting variables, the linear regression coefficient and for testing the operational model from the structural equations SPSS version 22 was used at the significance level of 0.05
The results showed that there is not a meaningful relationship between virtual social networks and quality of life with general health, but there is a significant relationship between quality of life with general health as well as between quality of life components and general health (0.001 ≥ P).
It seems that quality of life and all its components can be directly related to general health and all its components, regardless of the amount of use of social networks. In this study, according to the results of the study, considering that most of the physical and psychological effects of the process are gradual and sometimes they are marked and recognizable for decades, and the spread of virtual social networks is less than two It is not decisive that the role of these networks can not be ruled out or confirmed in the formation of such social damages, and the consistency or inconsistency of the research is mentioned, so further research should be done.
