The Analysis of the Story, Expression and Allegories in Fi Halat al Tofuliah

Sahabudin yahya sohravardi known as Esraq (master of illumination) is one of the outstanding figures of Islamic theosophy and Iranian culture both in intuition and linguistic and literary aspects.Sohravardi has written several epistles in a symbolic language, among them “Fi halat al Tofuliah” (In the state of childhood). In this essay, after explaining the summary of this story I have analyzed its symbols and allegories.Finally I’ve concluded that in this epistle – contrary to Sohravardi’s other works – didactic and allegorical aspects are more than its symbolic aspect, hence, probably he has written this epistle for the beginners of mystic journey.
