Analysis of Iraqi Kurdistan's independence by emphasizing the role of each regional and extra-regional powers

Considering Kurds living on the border of the four countries of Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran, any change can create regional and international/trans-regional sensitivities and tensions, while disturbing the balance of power in the Middle East. In the meantime, the fall of Saddam Hussein and the rise of ISIL have undermined the central government of Iraq and strengthened the Independence of Iraqi Kurdistan. The leaders of this region declared Kurdistan's independence in light of the intense conflicts and disagreements between the countries of the region and in the hope of using the Zionist gold leaf to encourage the United States to support the Kurdistan region. The declaration of Iraqi Kurdistan's independence without reference to the votes of the Iraqi people, disturbed the balance of power in the region and thereby posed security threats to other countries.The declaration of independence made Iraqi Kurdistan as competition and conflict field for regional and international powers. This paper is aimed at checking out the process of independence Iraqi Kurdistan by Barezani and follows to address the barriers and causes of the failure of the Kurdish region in declaring its independence. The present study seeks to response the question of what are the challenges facing Kurdistan's independence in the Middle East? This research, using descriptive-analytical method and based on the realism theory, follow this hypothesis that independence of Iraqi Kurdistan has faced numerous challenges in three levels including national, regional and international. The findings show that the domestic conditions (opposition of the government and the Iraqi parties and groups, and the conflict between the Kurdish parties with each other), regional conditions (opposition of Iran, Turkey, Syria and Arabs), international conditions (lack of serious support by United States, Europe and even Russia) of realization of Iraqi Kurdistan's independence and formation independent Kurdish government is not possible.
