Barriers to Baluch Women's Participation in Economic and Social Activities

Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate the barriers to Baluch women's participation in economic and social activities in Sistan and Baluchistan Province through using the descriptive - survey method. According to official data, rate of economic and social participation of women in Sistan and Baluchestan province is less than other provinces. Therefore, the sample of the study consisted of 210 social Baluch women activist who have been selected by simple random sampling.  A questionnaire developed by the researcher was used for data collection procedure, and for data analysis Student t-test, Friedman test, frequency distribution, mean and standard deviation were applied. The results indicated that the cultural structure, social structure, economic barriers, legal barriers and educational obstacles were influential in low participation of Baluch women. According to the respondents, economic barriers and social structure had the greatest effect on the participation of Baluch women in economic and social activities and educational obstacles had the least effect.
