ANALYSIS OF CONSEQUENCES OF FAMILY IMMIGRATION OF MARRIED WOMEN IN ORDER TO OBTAIN HIGHER EDUCATION
The purpose of this study was to investigate the consequences of family immigration of married women in order to obtain higher education in Tehran. This study empirically examines this statement based on the folk understanding that "the geographic mobility of women with their family is associated with negative consequences for themselves and their families". The research method is descriptive in terms of the nature of the data analysis and is a "retrospective pseudo-panel" survey in terms of the method for collecting information. The research population was all non-Tehran married female students who had immigrated to Tehran city with their family members with the aim of obtaining higher education in Tehran, Tarbiat Modarres, Shahid Beheshti, Malek Ashtar and Khajeh Nasir universities. The total research population was 1300, and 300 of them were selected as sample using stratified sampling method. Data were gathered using researcher-made questionnaires. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the family immigration did not change the level of "marital satisfaction", "acculturation" and "quality of life" and the previous level of all three cases in the pre-immigration status is also "preserved" in the current situation. On the other hand, the level of "attitude towards childbearing", "family cohesion" and "social mobility" in the pre-immigration status is "not preserved" in the current situation and has undergone a "decreasing" change. Three factors such as "type of university", "education level" and "duration of attendance" in Tehran city explain the different consequences experienced by immigrant women and their families.
