Evaluating the Public Participations in Renovation of Worn-out Urban Texture (A Case Study of the Old Neighborhoods of Kermanshah)
Problems of worn-out urban areas in megalopolises are always seen as one of the obstacles to the rapid development in cities, because the lack of adequate infrastructure is a major obstacle in the provision of municipal services in these areas and also residence, employment, leisure and transportation as the main functions of the urban texture have never lacked optimal efficiency. The existing problems such as problems of health, environment, heavy traffic jams, lack of resistance to natural disasters and crime and social damages, are all the causes of the slow development of the city. This article analyzes the factors affecting people's participation in the renovation of the worn-out urban areas in Kermanshah and tries to answer the questions related to the attitudes of the residents about the worn-out urban texture in Kermanshah as well as whether the distressed areas of the modernization of the tissues compared to the expected approach about participation is random or if there is a significant relationship between them. The methodology of this study in terms of the purpose and nature is descriptive. In this study, since the data are non-parametric, chi-square (x2) test was used for the analysis. Also, the use of the variable of participation is divided into three layers of high, medium and low goodness approach was used the results of which showed that there was a meaningful difference between the observed frequencies and the expected level of public participation in the renovation of worn-out urban areas in Kermanshah.
