Developing accreditation standards for AJA garrison clinics

Health care policymakers strive to achieve an acceptable level of quality and have provided and tested numerous tools. One of the most important and growing of these tools is accreditation. The purpose of this study was to develop accreditation standards for health units and clinics of the Aja garrison.

 This study was an applied study of qualitative studies in the second half of 2018-2019. The statistical population is specialists in garrison and military medicine clinics. The data on accreditation models from different countries were analyzed and then the standards for outpatient services were extracted. After collecting, reviewing, and classifying the information collected, the standards were developed and scored in two rounds by Delphi experts. Standards and metrics that did not achieve the required grade were entered into Delphi's second phase, and final standards were formulated after the expert's comments.

The examination of the results of Delphi shows that the final model was obtained with 44 standards and 134 measures in the specified axes. The "management and command" axis, with 10 standards and 30 measures, was the most widely used evaluation measure, and the "patient and staff rights" axis, with 5 standards and 12 measures, was the most narrowly based assessment model in the final model.

With an accreditation program, the health and medical needs of Aja garrisons can be identified and areas of improvement can be developed over time to meet needs and create a healthy environment
