Nutritional Care in the Prevention and Treatment of Coronavirus (Covid-19): A Simple Overview

Abstract:
Introduction and purpose

a new species of the new beta-cronavirus family has recently been found in wuhan china (nCoV-2019). The virus can cause a variety of serious respiratory illnesses such as: acute respiratory syndrome becomes severe. Therefore, due to the relationship between nutrition, immune and respiratory systems. This review study was designed with the aim of nutritional care in the prevention and treatment of Covid-19.

Methods

The study was conducted as a review by search in Pubmed databases, Google scholar was used with the keywords: Crona Virus Nutrition, supplement and influenza.  In this way, Persian and English articles were collected and reviewed until 2020.

Results

According to the available evidence, the main method of transmission of this virus is through person-to-person transmission. Therefore, frequent hand washing, maintaining social distance and observing personal hygiene play an important role in preventing the disease. Due to the role of nutrition in the prevention of infections and the relationship between vitamin deficiency and salts in the exacerbation of respiratory diseases, it is recommended for all patients to consume a variety of fruits and vegetables. Use lukewarm liquids to dilute respiratory secretions and have a varied balanced diet. It is important to include all major food groups in these patients. supplements are recommended for people with nutritional deficiencies. But for all patients, there are contradictory findings.

Conclusion

To improve the immune system, it is recommended that protein foods be cooked thoroughly and avoid unpackaged foods. When it comes to eating fruits and vegetables, it's best to use fruits and vegetables that can be peeled. due to the relationship between malnutrition and the spread of infectious diseases, it is recommended to get enough macronutrients, proteins, useful fats, omega-3 sources and consumption of fruits and vegetables, which are the main sources of vitamins.
