Identifying the R&D dynamic capabilities and investigating their impact on the innovative performance of food industry companies (case study: companies producing sweet and chocolate)

Abstract:

Dynamic Capabilities are the capacity of an organization to create, expand, or purposefully modify the resources of the organization. The organization relies on resources in order to achieve their goals. One of the most important dynamic capabilities is the dynamic capabilities of research and development in organizations. One of the most important outputs of research and development is innovation. So, research and development dynamic capabilities can have a significant impact on the innovative performance of companies, such as food industry companies. Consideing that innovation in companies creates core competency and plays an important role in gaining competitive advantage. Therefore, the aim of this study is to identify the dynamic capabilities of research and development in food industry companies and the impact of each of these capabilities on innovative performance.in order to analysis the data, AMOS software has been used. Finally, in this study, 19 final indicators were identified as research and development dynamic capabilities in the food industry. Amoung these indicators, the capability and create coordination between the processes of the research and development unit and other organizational units has the greatest impact on the research and development dynamics capabilities. In the "sensing variable", the speed indicator in detecting changes in the industry, in the "seizing variable", the indicator of related activities to add value to customers in the organization's strategic plans, and in the "re-configuration variable", the indicator of ability to integrate new knowledge with existing knowledge have the highest coefficients of determinants.It was also found that research and development dynamic capability with a 99% confidence interval has a positive effect on innovative performance.
