In 2016, following the transfer operation of water from Boldaji to Sefiddasht Steel complex tensions occurred in Boldaji city. This study tries to shed light on how this event is portrayed in national news agencies and news sites. To this end content analysis was adopted as the research method. To reach the goals 127 news stories of news agencies and news sites on the Baladji’s event from 2016/7/19 to 2016/8/19 were collected through the census method and were analyzed by the use of SPSS. The findings were analyzed using the concepts of developmental journalism, environmental journalism, and crisis journalism. Results show that most of the stories were published in the first week of the event. The Boladji's event has been portrayed as a social and political event. In most cases this event was referred to as "involvement" and "aggregation". News agencies and news sites have used “event-oriented” news to report the event. The criteria for developmental journalism, crisis journalism and environmental journalism have been underestimated. More than the half of the content is referenced to the event history that most of them describe the event generally. They haven’t paid much attention to the analysis and roots of the event.
