Specifically, security in public spaces will lead to a vibrant and dynamic city, which can be seen in the active presence of the people, the creation of a culture of participation, cooperation and interaction, the reduction of stress and anxiety, the presence of various groups. The importance and necessity of research is based on improving the physical characteristics of public spaces, which can enhance social status by mediating increased feelings of security. The main purpose of the study is to measure the relationship between physical components and the feeling of security in public spaces. Accordingly, in this study, the feeling of security in the historical and old contexts of Khorramabad city was evaluated as a public space of the city. The research method is analytical-interpretive and has been done through field observation. In the first step of the research, after identifying the research criteria, a group consisting of experts related to the research is formed. Based on this, first, the redesign indicators of urban spaces were extracted with emphasis on improving the sense of security based on the SWOT model and provided to 16 respondents.coordination coefficient was used to determine the consensus scale among panel members. The Kendall Coordination Rate is a scale for determining the degree of coordination and agreement between several rank categories related to an N object or individual. According to the information obtained, the most important physical components affecting the creation and improvement of security in urban spaces based on research conducted in this field, as well as the views and experiences of supervision, use, urban furniture, urban texture, network of passages, light and brightness, comfort, Readability, visual quality and safety have the greatest impact on creating a sense of security.
