The prediction of academic flow based on academic engagement, motivation and optimism among high school Karaj city
The purpose of this study was to prediction of academic flow based on academic engagement, motivation and optimism among high school Karaj city. The descriptive- correlation method was used. The statistical population consists of all the female students’ high school Tehran city in year academic 2018-2019. In this study, according to cluster sampling method, 150 student by formula Plant of Tabachnick & Fidell (2007) were selected as samples and they were asked to fill in the academic flow questionnaire (AFQ) of Martin & Jackson (2008), schoolwork engagement inventory (SEI) of Salmela-Aro & Upadaya (2012), academic motivation scale (AMS) of Vallerand and et al (1992) and academic optimism scale (AOS) of Tschannen‐ Moran and et al (2013). The data were analyzed by tests of Pearson correlation and multivariate regression by enter method. Findings showed that there was significant correlation between personality characteristics, emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence with academic flow (P<0/01). Regression analyses also revealed that 65/4% of variance of academic flow was explained by academic flow based on academic engagement, motivation. Result revealed that academic flow based on academic engagement, motivation essential in effectuating academic flow.
